InRow SC Features & Benefits:
Self-contained design- The unit is quickly and easily installed without refrigerant lines or remote heat exchangers. The unit requires only power, condensate drain and an available return plenum to provide effective cooling.
Containment system compatible- The unit can be combined with a rack-level containment system to eliminate hot air mixing and maximize cooling efficiency.
In-Row architecture- Captures hot exhaust air directly from the IT equipment, thereby increasing the unit's sensible cooling capacity over traditional cooling architectures.
Modular design- Modular design provides scalable solutions to add cooling as demand increases.
Real-Time Capacity Monitoring- Real-time display of current and available cooling.
Microprocessor controller- Provides proactive control and real-time monitoring via a four line, eighty character, alphanumeric display.
Network manageable- View the user interface with a browser. Provides quick access from anywhere on a secure network.
Building Management System Integration- Send alarms and data points allowing you to manage critical building infrastructure from a single system.
Ducted condenser air- Uses unconditioned air from plenum space to reject the heat rather than conditioned room air.
Built-In Condensate Pump- Factory installed pump collects and removes water from the air conditioner, ensuring continuous operation.
High Head Pressure Protection- Ensures the InRow SC remains operational even when the condenser inlet air is restricted or very hot.
Coil freeze protection- Hot gas bypass prevents evaporator coil from freezing during light load conditions.
Predictive failure notification- Maximizes system availability by providing early warning of required fan or filter replacement.
Automatic restart- Returns the unit to its last operating status in the event of a power failure.\
Hot swappable fans- Allows system to remain operational if a fan replacement is required.
Washable filters- Easy to maintain, cleanable, deep loading mesh filter removes particles from the return air stream.
Easy service access- In-row equipment allows for all serviceable components to be replaced/maintained in the hot or cold aisle.
Rack Inlet Temperature Control- Reduces the risk of hot spots at the rack level
Variable speed fans- Variable speed fans reduce energy consumption during off-peak cooling periods.
Green Refrigerant- Environmentally friendly refrigerant that can offer LEED points.
Question: we currently have (6) apc rc cooling racks. would this model replace the need for chillers?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. The SC units are self-contained cooling systems that have all of the refrigerate system components within the enclosure and is pre-charged at the factory. The SC unit does not require separate hook-ups to chilled water or other refrigerant lines.
However, a condensate drain connection is needed as well as the exhaust should be tied into to the building return plenum via a ducting kit.
