Question: is this for hazardous location?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. This unit is certified to comply with En 5094-1, EN 60079-29-1, EN 50130-4 and EN 55022 for non-explosive areas; and is rated for Zone 2 use according to EN 60079-10. The UK Health and Safety Executive says the following in regards to Zone 2, "An area in which an explosive gas atmosphere is not likely to occur in normal operation and, if it occurs, will only exist for a short time." The most common value for quantifying Zone 2 is, "Explosive atmosphere for less than 10h/yr, but still sufficiently likely as to require controls over ignition sources." See:

Additionally, the specifications state the device is for indoor use from -10 C (14F) to 40C (104F) and is rated IP30 for water resistance.
Given the above, we would not consider this device for serious hazardous duty. This unit would be ideal for locations where the potential for leakage is minimal, yet the potential for loss-of-life or damage to property is high enough to warrant monitoring.
