Environment Monitoring System with 1-Wire Sensor InterfaceMonitor and manage server room environmental and security conditions over IP. Provides early warnings before critical events turn into disaster. The ENVIROMUX Environment Monitoring System with 1-Wire Sensor Interface, monitors critical environmental conditions, such as temperature, humidity, liquid water presence, power, intrusion, and/or smoke. When a sensor goes out of range of a configurable threshold, the system will notify you via email, web page, network management (SNMP), and/or SMS messages (via optional external USB 3G modem). The system functions independently or as an IP-connected remote sensor for the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D. The unit supports 24 single reading 1-wire sensors in any combination-temperature, humidity, dew point, thermocouple or digital inputs-and 2 separate digital inputs. (Sensors sold separately) |

| Question: Can you provide technical information on the ENVIROMUX-1W and matching 1 wire sensors. I'd like to understand how a 1 wire sensor can send data to the receiver and how multiple sensors are wired to the ENVIROMUX-1W. Thanks.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. It appears that "1-wire" in this case means you can connect multiple Temperature or Temp/Humidity/Dew-point sensors in a series, using only one connection. The wire itself is a 4-conductor wire that connects with the unit via RJ-11.
From the manual: "The ENVIROMUX-1W '1W Sensor' ports can support a combined total of 24 sensors. Since each ENVIROMUX-TH1W-7 has 3 sensors (temperature, humidity and dewpoint), only 8 of these can be connected. If only 1 is connected, then up to 21 ENVIROMUX-T1W-7 temperature-only sensors can be connected."
in addition to the two RJ-11 ports, the ENVIROMUX-1W has two "digital in" terminals for two dry-contact sensors.
